Position Description:

Position Summary:

Assist in the resolution of process upset issues which require a technical understanding of processing technology in support of operators. Utilize best practices in engineering design or design review in support of replacement or installation of new processes or components. Manage projects through development, construction, and commissioning including budgeting, cost and contractor management. Accountable for process reliability and mechanical integrity programs within the plant processes.

Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree in the field of chemical engineering required plus 5-10 years (try 3) of experience in the manufacturing industry.

Relevant industry experience includes chemicals, refining, biofuels, food ingredients or related "process" industries.

Must have hands on plant/operations experience. E&C only experience will not work.

Should posses strong process and equipment troubleshooting skills

Project Management experience

Knowledge of equipment, systems and processes such as instrumentation, piping, valves, pumps, compressors and controls.

Experience with Mechanical Integrity and Reliability a plus.

Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, program logic and control theory.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Engineer, design, and implement new processes, equipment & unit operations.

Commission new processes, equipment, and unit operations.

Develop, write, update and provide training on operating & maintenance procedures for the facility.

Troubleshoot, diagnose and direct repairs of existing equipment.

Diagnose and troubleshoot any instrumentation issues within facility.

Monitor, update, troubleshoot, and maintain facility control systems through logic programming and graphics development.

Manage and oversee construction activities.

Engineer, design, estimate cost and implement special projects as assigned.

Process optimization and recommendations for potential improvements.

Handle all technical interactions with State/City regulatory agencies.

Provide technical oversite of repairs.

Manage the Mechanical Integrity, Process Safety Information, and Management of Change sections of the PSM program.

Supervision of 3rd party contractors performing repair, installation, or turnaround services.
