Position Description:

Global Chemical Company is seeking a Sr Production Manager for their flagship plant near Columbia SC. Competitive salary and bonus and excellent benefits. Relocation assistance provided.

Experience:

BS in Engineering (Chemical ideal) or possibly Chemistry.

10+ years minimum overall experience with 5+ years of operations management experience.

Should come from the Chemical Process Industry such as: Refining, Petro Chemical, Bulk Pharmaceuticals or Grain processing or related.

This person should be well versed in Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma etc), Safety (PSM) and Environmental compliance.

Duties:

The Production Manager will have responsibility for all operations and ensure compliance with EHS guidelines and that all employees understand and follow all safety guidelines. Will drive continuous improvement and root cause problem solving to improve overall site performance. Will monitor the performance of in-process quality control procedures to produce quality products, manage raw material utilization, labor, material, supplies and other costs. Will supervise a team of Production Supervisors, Production Assistants, Production Coordinators, a Production Engineer and over 150 union operators. This person will be a hands on manager doing process improvement and optimization. Much of the focus will be Six Sigma and EH&S related and applying PSM.
